Caught by LOOKING at the live page on 2026-07-30, right after
   the template was switched to canvas.

   Everything is scoped to `.bp-adv`, so nothing here can reach the rest of
   bioprofile.com, and core blocks are styled BY ELEMENT so a heading, a
   paragraph, a quote, a list, an image or a button inserted by hand inside the
   advertorial comes out on-design with no class to remember.

   Jesse's design feedback, 2026-07-29 23:38, point by point:
   1. the light green and the dark green are the preferred colours; grey may be
      used but the page must NOT open grey;
   2. more colour and variation across sections, e.g. a colour block on the left
      or the right side of a section, without overdesign;
   3. ONE H1, plain text on white; everything else H2 or H3; an H2 may carry its
      own background colour so the page can be read from the headings alone; an
      H3 keeps its section background and gets a bigger font size;
   4. reuse the results page design feel;
   5. Written by / Verified by, the placeholder blocks and noindex stay.

   COLOUR PROVENANCE. Not one hex is invented.
   - #b7cb32 LIGHT GREEN, brand manual "colours rejuvenation protocol"
              (R183 G203 B51). Same value as --bp-lime in
              brands/bioprofile/brand/tokens.md.
   - #006b62  DARK GREEN, brand manual, nourish the cells (R0 G107 B98).
   - #005859 brand manual primary teal, the value the brand is built on.
   - #228a62  brand manual, challenge the body (R34 G138 B98).
   - #7ca64c  brand manual, calm the mind (R124 G166 B76).
   - #dbd4cd brand manual "additional color", the warm neutral.
   - #B7CB3329 is the brand token --bp-lime-soft (light green at 16 percent).
   - the gradients are the brand token layer's own, copied verbatim.

   SPECIFICITY NOTE. Elementor's global kit emits `.elementor-kit-6 h2` style
   rules at (0,1,1). Element rules below are written `.bp-adv h2`, also (0,1,1),
   and win on source order because this sheet is inline in the body while the
   kit is a
in the head. Component rules that MUST NOT lose carry two
   classes, e.g. `.bp-adv .wp-block-button__link`.

   LAYOUT NOTE. Vertical rhythm uses `margin-block` and never the `margin`
   shorthand, so the measure rule `.bp-adv-sec > * { margin-inline: auto }` can
   centre a block without being outranked by its own element rule.
   =========================================================================== */

.bp-adv {
  --bp-ink: #212527;
  --bp-teal: #005859;
  --bp-forest: #006B62;
  --bp-emerald: #228A62;
  --bp-olive: #7CA64C;
  --bp-lime: #B7CB33;
  --bp-lime-soft: #B7CB3329;
  --bp-sand: #DBD4CB;
  --bp-white: #FFFFFF;
  --bp-foot: #6b6b6b;
  --bp-grad-dark: linear-gradient(237deg, rgba(0,88,89,0.00) 62.94%, #005859 100%), linear-gradient(90deg, rgba(34,138,98,0.00) 40%, #228A62 100%), #006B62;
  --bp-grad-lime: linear-gradient(110deg, rgba(183,203,51,0.00) 36.06%, rgba(183,203,51,0.25) 97.65%), #FFFFFF;
  --bp-font: 'Poppins','Segoe UI',Arial,sans-serif;
  --bp-fs-h1: 44px; --bp-fs-h2: 31px; --bp-fs-h3: 24px; --bp-fs-pre: 15px;
  --bp-fs-body: 17px; --bp-fs-small: 14px; --bp-fs-foot: 13px; --bp-fs-btn: 17px;
  --bp-lh-body: 1.75;
  --bp-s-1: 4px; --bp-s-2: 8px; --bp-s-3: 12px; --bp-s-4: 16px;
  --bp-s-5: 24px; --bp-s-6: 32px; --bp-s-7: 44px; --bp-s-8: 72px;
  --bp-measure: 760px; --bp-side: 40px;
  --bp-radius-photo: 16px; --bp-radius-btn: 10px; --bp-radius-card: 20px;
  --bp-shadow: 0 10px 30px rgba(0,88,89,0.10);
  font-family: var(--bp-font);
  font-size: var(--bp-fs-body);
  line-height: var(--bp-lh-body);
  color: var(--bp-ink);
  background: var(--bp-white);
  -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
}
.bp-adv, .bp-adv * { box-sizing: border-box; }
.bp-adv p, .bp-adv li, .bp-adv h1, .bp-adv h2, .bp-adv h3, .bp-adv blockquote,
.bp-adv a, .bp-adv cite, .bp-adv span { overflow-wrap: break-word; min-width: 0; }

/* THE TOGGLE. The theme ships
   `body, html { overflow-x: hidden }` as an inline head style. overflow-x:hidden
   forces the OTHER axis from visible to auto, so html and body both become
   scroll containers, and a sticky element sticks to its nearest scrollport: the
   bar was pinned to a box as tall as the whole document, which never scrolls.
   Measured on this preview 2026-08-24: position:sticky applied, computed top 0,
   and the bar still left the screen at y=-600 after a 600px scroll. `clip`
   clips exactly the same overflow WITHOUT creating a scroll container, so the
   viewport is the scrollport again and the bar sticks. Equal specificity to the
   theme rule and later in document order, which is what wins it; a browser too
   old for `clip` keeps `hidden` and a bar that scrolls away, which is the old
   page and never a broken one. */
html,body{overflow-x:clip}
.bp-adv-sitehead.wp-block-group{position:sticky;top:0;z-index:120;background:#fff;
  border-bottom:1px solid #e6ece9;padding:12px 24px;margin:0}
.bp-adv-sitehead.wp-block-group>*{margin-block:0}
.bp-adv-sitehead.is-stuck{box-shadow:0 2px 10px rgba(0,88,89,0.08)}
.bp-adv-sitehead .bp-adv-sitehead-row{max-width:1120px;margin:0 auto;display:flex;
  align-items:center;justify-content:space-between;gap:12px}
.bp-adv-sitehead .bp-adv-sitehead-row>*{margin-block:0}
.bp-adv-sitehead .bp-adv-sitehead-row .bp-adv-sitehead-logo{margin:0;max-width:none;
  flex:0 0 auto;line-height:0}
a.bp-adv-sitehead-cta{display:inline-flex;align-items:center;justify-content:center;
  flex:0 0 auto;min-height:40px;padding:0 22px;border-radius:999px;
  background:#005859;color:#fff;font-family:'Poppins','Segoe UI',Arial,sans-serif;
  font-size:15px;font-weight:600;line-height:1.2;white-space:nowrap;
  text-decoration:none;transition:background 250ms ease}
a.bp-adv-sitehead-cta:hover,a.bp-adv-sitehead-cta:focus{background:#7CA64C;color:#fff}
a.bp-adv-sitehead-cta:focus-visible{outline:2px solid #005859;outline-offset:2px}
/* T188: the text link to the scans index, beside the pill. margin-left:auto takes
   the row's free space, so link and pill sit together at the right edge and the
   logo stays where it is. Does the sweet itself also do something to how the rest of your afternoon goes?

You built a daily habit on an assumption. That assumption comes from advertising older than you are. And no one has ever measured it in you.

The enemy on this page is that uncontrolled habit. The sweet itself is not the enemy, and you are certainly not either.

What 31 studies measured in the first hour after carbohydrate intake

In 2019, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews published a meta-analysis by Konstantinos Mantantzis and colleagues.¹

What was investigated: whether carbohydrates really do lift your mood, your energy and your alertness.

How: the researchers put 31 studies together, 1,259 participants in total, and worked through 176 effect sizes. Carbohydrate intake was set against a placebo, and mood was measured at several points after intake, so that the course over time became visible.

The findings: on no mood measure and at no point after intake did they find a positive effect of carbohydrates. Within the first hour, carbohydrate intake went together with more fatigue and less alertness than with placebo.

One thing belongs with this straight away. This is a meta-analysis: the researchers did not run a trial of their own, they worked through the results of 31 other studies. And their publication gives no number for how large that effect is. What they say, they say about 31 studies at once.

Hold that against your own afternoon. The rush you feel at five past three is not in the measurements. What was measured in that first hour is more fatigue and less alertness than with a placebo.

The second half of the story is about the hours before that biscuit.

In 2026, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise published a randomised crossover trial with 117 adults.²

What was investigated: what long, concentrated mental work does to your attention and to your physical performance.

How: 117 participants, 57 women, 32 years old on average, all did both conditions. In one session they worked for 45 minutes on a Stroop task, tuned individually to their own level. In the other session they watched a documentary of their own choosing for 45 minutes. After that, in both cases, they did the same tests: a six-minute GoNoGo task and a twenty-minute cycling time trial.

The findings: after the 45 minutes of mental work, the reaction time on the GoNoGo task was significantly worse than after the documentary (P < 0.001). The feeling of mental fatigue also stayed higher during the cycling than after the documentary.

That documentary is what makes this trial strong. The same people, the same tests, only a different way of filling those 45 minutes. So what was different afterwards came from the mental work. The trial was registered in advance.

One thing that design could not do. The participants of course knew whether they were doing a Stroop task or watching a documentary. So blinding does not appear in the publication either.

And there are two things this trial does not show. The fatigue came from a 45-minute task in a laboratory, not from a working day with email, notifications and meetings. And the participants were 32 years old on average, so this is not research among people over fifty.

Put those two sets of measurements side by side. One is about what 45 minutes of concentrated mental work does to response control. The other is about what carbohydrates do to fatigue and alertness in the first hour. At three o'clock the two come together in the same afternoon.

That is how it keeps itself going. The dip creates the craving for something sweet. And in that first hour, more fatigue was measured than with placebo. Tomorrow at three o'clock the same thing starts again.

Notice what never happened here. No one ever explained to you what that biscuit measurably does to people. The habit came in slowly, one hungry afternoon at a time, and now it is there every day. The measurements that show what happens in that first hour have been there since 2019.¹

Does this sound familiar? Take the free check now.

Start your analysis now

Our scientifically validated questionnaire gives you answers

Your afternoon in three published numbers

31 studies, 1,259 people. All the participants from those studies added together. What carbohydrates do to your concentration, your memory, your working pace or your blood sugar was not included in it.

You were not weak at five past three. You did the same thing every day, with a remedy that has never been measured in you.

Think about that for a moment. Multiply that one moment by all the working days in a year. Then you understand why so many people have lost their afternoons.

The three things you now do against that afternoon dip, and what they actually deliver

The sweet ritual. Measured above. No pick-me-up in the figures, but more fatigue and less alertness than with placebo in the first hour after intake.¹ Where that relief at five past three comes from was not measured. What was measured within the first hour is the opposite of what you were looking for.

Another cup of coffee. Coffee at nine, at eleven, at two, and by four you are negotiating with yourself about a fifth. How you take your coffee is of course up to you. But be clear about what that fifth cup does and does not do. It helps you for the coming hour, perhaps the coming two hours. What the trial with 117 people measured is mental fatigue after 45 minutes of demanding mental work.² A cup of coffee measures nothing. After that cup you still do not know how your energy runs through the day.

Pushing through. Simply carrying on, without any aid. In that crossover, response control declined significantly after 45 minutes of mental work (P < 0.001).² In the cycling afterwards, the distance just missed the statistical threshold (P = 0.059), although the pedalling frequency did drop significantly (P = 0.042). The effects are small to modest across the board. Carrying on changes nothing about that measured decline.

These three have one thing in common. All three are aimed at the coming hour, and they measure nothing. You have been managing your afternoon for years, and you have never once mapped it out.

And there is something else. All three are cheap, fast and easy. You chose them in your hardest moments, and in those moments cheap and easy is simply what you choose.

Three remedies, one shared problem: none of them measures what is really happening in your afternoon. It is the remedies that fail here, not you. It is not your fault. It can be done differently.

First measure what your afternoon really looks like, then work on your energy every day

Turn the order around.
