That matters, because a heart that pounds after eating frightens people, while most of what a meal does to the heart has been measured. BioProfile’s heart and vascular scan gives you an indication of where you stand today in this area, as one of the 11 health areas that the full scan assesses. This is not a diagnosis. It is insight, to see where you stand today, and to help you make better choices in your food and your way of living. What the scan does not do is point to a cause or make a diagnosis. Only a doctor can do that.

In short

In 23 healthy adults the heart rate, cardiac output and stroke volume 30 minutes after a meal of 330 kcal were all higher than when fasting (P = 0.009 for the heart rate).1

Thuisarts.nl names coffee, cola, energy drinks, alcohol, smoking, fatty food, stress, anxiety, pain, fever and tiredness among the everyday reasons for palpitations.2

Across 13 studies in 3,021 older adults, 40.5 per cent had a drop in blood pressure after eating, the same event as a fast heart with a light head.3

The heart and blood vessel scan gives you a score to start from.
